Mindfulness
Designed specifically for students' age to guarantee their understanding.
This workshop involves two components, present-time awareness and equanimity. Present-time awareness refers to a stable, clear and alert awareness of momentary experience - We attend to present-moment experience with equanimity. Equanimity can be defined as a sense of cognitive-emotional balance where there is no compulsion to act out.
With these two components, mindfulness is defined as the awareness that emerges through paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally unfolding the experience moment by moment.
Each week focuses on a different activity.
Yoga
Designed specifically for students' age for a more focused lesson plan and enjoyable atmosphere.
The Laughing Buddha eliminates judgment and competition allowing students to relax and have fun while developing strength, coordination, flexibility and balance, as well as increasing body awareness, concentration and self-esteem. Students are not always isolated to their own yoga mats; classes incorporate partner and group poses, cooperative games, self-expression and creativity.
Kids (ages 4-12)
This program has a balance between spontaneity and structure, so students learn to listen to themselves creatively. Classes incorporate stories, songs, games and poses to create a multi-sensory environment where children develop through kinesthetic, visual, and aural learning.
Teens (ages 13-18)
This program has more structure allowing teens to understand their mind & body and the benefits of a healthy lifestyle while integrating techniques to manage the unique issues they're faced with every day. Classes incorporate both group and individual practice.
